A Good Beach Day
South Beach is crazy over Memorial Day Weekend, but Ft. Lauderdale Beach had a few things going on too! Besides the fine beach, shining sun and inviting ocean there were quite a few activities. The Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball tournament was held at the south end. A little further north on a blocked off area of A1A two live music stages framed street vendors and artists showing their wares. In between there was a Car Show displaying fine automobiles of all eras and for the kids: fun slides, sand sculpting and a dance competition.
A highlight for me was Ft. Lauderdale native, 11 year old Julia Dale, who sang the national anthem and I honestly don't think I ever heard a better rendition. I wish I had some audio share, but alas all I can offer is a few pics as a sample of the happening.
